CNUa Accreditation

R.G. Richards & Associates is pleased to announce that Ron Richards has received his full accreditation from the Congress For New Urbanism. Ron completed the necessary courses at the University of Miami and since becoming an accredited member, has been actively involved in Congress activity including participation in its most recent meeting in West Palm Beach Florida.

As most municipalities in Ontario move towards the adoption of New Urbanist urban design principles, R.G. Richards & Associates believe it is imperative for consultants working in the development field to be able to understand and negotiate from an accredited prospective on behalf of their clients.

105th UNSM Conference – October 28, 2010

On October 28, 2010 the Union of Nova Scotia Municipalities held its 105th conference in Sydney, Nova Scotia. As one of its key sessions the issue of downtown versus suburban retail commercial development was debated. Ron Richards was asked to attend and present on behalf of suburban retail development. Over 100 delegates attended the session.

Given his recognized expertise in the field of retail development Ron was an excellent choice for a debate on that subject.

Barrie Park Place

From the initial acquisition of land to assisting in obtaining necessary official plan, zoning bylaw and site plan approvals and finally construction, RGR has been an integral part of the development of the Park Place project in Barrie. RGR continues its role in assisting with approvals for severances and site plans as each phase develops.
