15.3 Megawatt Power Generating Facility

RGR’s experience and services stretches beyond that of shopping centre and mixed use projects. In the fall of 2012 RGR was retained by ENTECH-REM Canada Inc. to prepare a Planning Justification Report together with a Site Plan and manage the land use approvals required for a proposed 15.3 Megawatt Energy-from-Waste Facility to be located in Port Hope, Ontario approximately 1 hour east of the City of Toronto. This will be a state of the art facility that will divert solid waste from landfill, recover recyclables and use a proven gasification technology to produce alternative electrical power. The facility offsets the negative environmental impacts of both landfills and fossil fuel firing power plants.

Rutherford Marketplace – Vaughan

After successfully designating, rezoning and obtaining Site Plan Approval for the first phases of commercial development (see our Project Section). RGR has been retained to obtain Official Plan, Zoning Bylaw and Site Plan approval for a 12 storey, mixed use condominium building at the north-west corner of the site. The development has been endorsed by staff and is in line for Council Approval.

Ottawa, Hunt Club Rd and Riverside Drive – St. Hubert under construction!

RGR was responsible for Minor Variances, Site Plan and Ottawa Airport Authority approval of a new free-standing St. Hubert restaurant in Ottawa’s south end near the International Airport. The restaurant is expected to open in late 2013.

Construction has started on a five storey office building at Dartmouth Crossing in Halifax Nova Scotia.

Spring 2013

R.G. Richards & Associates were responsible for site plan and permit approvals for the most recent element of the Dartmouth Crossing complex a new 5 storey office building, fully tenanted by a national scale insurer, located at the south terminus of the Retail Village. RGR has been fully engaged in the project since its inception in 2003.

Update – Construction progresses on five storey office building at Dartmouth Crossing in Halifax Nova Scotia.

August 2013

After obtaining the required rezoning and other development approvals RGR passed the project on for construction (see project). The building is now nearly enclosed with occupancy slated for early 2014.

New twin tower 28 storey condominium coming to Ottawa’s downtown.

RGR have been retained by Phoenix Homes of Ottawa, ON to manage the site development approval process for their planned 28 storey, twin tower condominium development. Construction is expected in 2014-2015.

Panera Bread latest restaurant to open at Park Place in Barrie.

The latest addition to Park Place Barrie is Panera Bread an upscale fresh food/bakery. RGR was responsible for Site Plan approval.

Ultramar comes to Park Place Barrie

Acting for Ultramar, RGR successfully completed Site Plan, Building Permit and MTO Building and Land Use Permit applications. Now under construction, the gas bar, coffee shop with drive through and car wash is expected to open this summer.

2 Storey Commercial Building in Toronto’s Liberty Village

In the summer of 2011, First Capital Realty Inc. completed construction of a 2 storey commercial building at 120 Lynn Williams Street in Toronto’s Liberty Village. R.G. Richards & Associates were responsible for coordinating and obtaining site plan approval, consents and variances required to allow construction. The building is now home to a CIBC Branch, Williams Landing Restaurant , Aroma Café and the Beer Boutique, among other shops.

LCBO opens at Gloucester Centre, Ottawa

R.G. Richards & Associates applied for, managed the application and obtained approval for the newest LCBO in Ottawa. The store opened in December, 2012.

New fitness club at Eagleson Place Shopping Centre in Ottawa (Kanata), Ontario.

R.G. Richards & Associates applied for, managed the process and obtained rezoning and site plan approvals for the first phase of expansion at the Eagleson Place Shopping Centre in Kanata, Ontario. Other components include a new Beer Store (nearing completion) and additional retail space.

Approval for a 50,000 sq. ft. office building was also obtained on an adjacent parcel.
