The Greater Toronto Suburban Working Group (GTSWG)

R.G. Richards & Associates is a member of the The Greater Toronto Suburban Working Group (GTSWG); a sub set of the global research project, Global Suburbanisms: Governance, Land and Infrastructure in the 21st Century (MCRI). This project is housed at the City Institute at York University and is focused on analyzing the recent forms of urbanization and emerging forms of (sub) urbanization across the world.

The GTSWG was established in the summer of 2010 as a forum for a diverse and expert group of actors including planners, academics, and developers to share information and work towards innovating new forms of suburban governance. The workshop acts as a forum for the exchange of information and ideas regarding present day and future prospects for the policies and processes shaping the development and governance of suburbs across the GGH. A charter presenting ideas, questions and suggested strategies for governing the GGH generated within the GTSWG was presented at the MCRI Conference held in Toronto September 26th-29th, 2013.

R.G. Richards & Associates was proud to be involved in cutting edge research on an emergent topic in the planning conversation. Our article can be found on Twitter at the following link: www.yorku.ca/suburbs
